Bourama Sissoko, previously a Program Officer (Oct 2013 – Sep 2014) for the Sasakawa Global 2000 Farmer-Based Organizations project and Winrock International Farmer-to-Farmer Volunteer Technical Assistance program (Apr 2010-Sep 2013) has been involved with all aspects of Productivity Enhancement, Processing, Public Private Partnership, Markets, Extension Education, Monitoring and Evaluation.

Under the U.S. Feed the Future inititative Sissoko worked the Malian Agriculutre Value Enhancement Network, U.S. Government agencies, non-government organazions and private companies in the field of food security, social and economic developement and peace building operations. He is fluent in English, French, Arabic and Bambara (Spoken by more than 80% of the Malian population). He has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Bamako in Letters, Languages, Arts and Humanities (2004)

Some of Sissoko’s accomplishments include:

  • More than 100 technical training assignments successfully organized and implemented
  • Women organizations doubled their production through the adoption of new technologies and management practices
  • Supported the creation of mechanized seed processing industry in Faso Kaba, Mali
  • Introduction and dissemination of clay fish pond building and management technologies in Sikasso
  • Promoted use of Jatropha plant or green fuel for rural electrification in Koulikoro and Sikasso, Mali
  • Involved in project to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Bamako
